Green Head Man

GreenHeadMan

Started in 2004 by:
Syd Greenfield (vocals,bass)
David Headon ( vocals, drums, guitar, recordingengineer)
Dave Manning ( vocals, guitar, harmonica)

The band recorded seven tracks for an interim EP, and played numerous gigs in the West Midlands over a two-year span. The band all wrote and sang songs with unique three-part harmonies that could be compared to CSNY.

Syd Greenfield, drawn by the call of gypsy jazz was compelled to leave in 2006, and currently plays in Cafe Bohemia, Bridgett's Big Girl Blues, and other groups in the Cheltenham-Gloucester area.

The recorded EP was never released, and Headon and Manning were left to scratch their heads. Until in 2007 Dave Manning had the idea to involve his old mate Timmy Border ( complete LEGEND,thunderous bass player, and ex-member of Slowburner ) David Headon ( on guitar this time ) and Ron Draper ( drummer extraordinaire).

The mission was to get a few sets worth of funky-psychedelic-soul-filled covers to get pub and club audiences dancing, and to just 'see what happens'.

Manning's mate Scott Riley (Hammond organ, vocals) was invited along to complete the authentic 60s soul end of the sonic spectrum.
Scott Riley was concurrently playing with mod-soul band DC Fontana, and became too busy to carry on with the GreenHeads.
Scott recommended fellow mate Nick Foley (distorted Hammond organ maestro) into the fold, and the current lineup was complete.

The band started booking gigs around the West Midlands in 2008, and continue to play to ever more enthusiastic crowds.

Current (2009) lineup-

Dave Manning ( vocals, guitar, harmonica, percussion etc)
David Headon ( vocals, guitar )
Tim Border ( bass guitar)
Ron Draper ( drums )
Nick Foley ( vocals, Hammond organ)
